Third Annual awards ceremony recognizes local business
Horizon Utilities Corporation recognized five customers and contractors in St. Catharines and Hamilton for implementing innovative energy conservation and demand management projects involving retrofits, lighting fixtures and heating and cooling systems.

We are pleased to recognize these local businesses with Energy Savings Champions Awards for demonstrating leadership in conservation and demand management,” said Max Cananzi, President and CEO, Horizon Utilities.

During its annual Energy Savings Champions Awards, held on April 23, Horizon Utilities presented awards in five categories:
• Demand Reduction: Denninger’s Foods of the World
• Energy Savings: Hamilton Health Sciences
• Most Innovative Project: Gay Lea Foods Co-Operative Ltd. (Salerno Dairy)
• Channel Partner – Lighting: All Professional Trades
• Channel Partner – Non-Lighting: Star Energy Solutions
The awards were presented during a special breakfast event by Eileen Campbell, Vice President, Customer Services of Horizon Utilities and Horizon Utilities’ Chief Conservation Officer Brian Smith. The annual awards breakfast featured a special address from guest speaker Glenn Gibson, Tiger-Cats Vice-Chairman, former President and COO.
