Keep your Alectra account current during ongoing mail delivery delays

Although Canada Post employees are now back to work, effective November 27, the postal disruption over the past few months has caused a significant backlog, and mail delivery may continue to be delayed throughout the holiday season. As an Alectra customer you still are responsible for paying your monthly bill. To avoid any potential late fees, we encourage you to choose an electronic payment method like on-line banking, tele-banking and pre-authorized payments. Login to My Account to view your account online and to register online for ebilling.

For customers who have participated in FIT or microfit programs and are anticipating the delivery of recurring refund cheques, consider signing up for autopay to avoid delivery delays.

Paying your utility bill should be easy and hassle free. That’s why we offer several convenient ways for you to pay your bill.

Pre-authorized payments

This convenient option offers you an easy way to make payments without having to keep track of due dates. Your financial institution deducts the payment directly from your account on or after the due date. Your automatic deductions eliminate the need for postage and the possibility of late payment charges. You can cancel this payment option and change to another at anytime.

We offer two convenient pre-authorized payment plans:

Paid in full - The total amount due on your electricity bill will automatically be withdrawn from your financial institution account on the due date specified on your bill. Your utility bill will be sent to you as usual.

Equal payment plan - Allows you to budget for an equal monthly payment for the year. A fixed amount is automatically withdrawn from your financial institution account on or after the monthly withdrawal date. We review your account and reconcile the payment amount annually. It is monitored during the year to ensure it’s inline with your actual usage. We will notify you in advance of any necessary changes to this amount.

Telephone & online banking

You can pay your account by telephone or online through your financial institution. When setting up utility invoice payments for telephone or online banking, you’ll find us under the name Alectra Utilities (formally Horizon Utilities).

Payments made through financial institutions

Your financial institution may take up to five days to process your payment. Please ensure your payment is received on time and maintain your good credit rating by scheduling your online payment in advance of the due date.

Alectra Utilities has added an additional payment option for customers interested in using their credit card to pay their bill.

Drop box payments

Payments can be made through drop boxes at the following locations. Please note that cash payments are not accepted. Cheques or money orders only.
