|Conservation Block - over conservation block
**Rate structure as of November 1, 2014. Time-of-Use and Tiered rates are set by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) on May 1st and November 1st of each year.
The Time-of-Use and Tiered electricity rates have changed, effective November 1, 2014. The result is a total bill increase of 1.80% or $5.38 per month for a General Service <50 kW customer who uses 2,000 kWh of electricity.
Reasons for the price increases
The increase in electricity rates is due to anticipated higher costs of supply, including an increase in the cost of power from rate-regulated nuclear and hydroelectric power plants. The Ontario Energy Board reviews electricity prices twice each year based on updated cost estimates. This is intended to help smooth changes in prices over time.
