Business Distribution Rates - Effective December 1, 2008

Horizon Utilities Corporation announces that the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) approved electricity distribution rate increases for Horizon Utilities business customers with these rates being implemented on December 1, 2008.

Electricity Rates and the Regulated Price Plan

The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) announced prices for the period from November 1, 2008 to April 30, 2009 for the Regulated Price Plan that represents the cost of electricity consumed. The OEB has determined that an RPP price adjustment is needed to reflect the true cost paid to the generators for electricity. These prices are reflected on the "Electricity" line of consumers' bills

From November 1, 2008 to April 30, 2009, prices for Regulated Price Plan business consumers who buy their electricity commodity from a utility will be 5.6 cents per kilowatt hour for electricity use up to the 750 Kilowatt hour threshold per month and 6.5 cents per kilowatt hour for consumption above that threshold.
